Research Fellow position in Mobile and Wireless Communications

Salary up to £29,541 per annum

The Mobile Communications Research Group within CCSR is seeking to recruit a full-time post-doc researcher, initially for a period of 1 year. The researcher will work in a team on a EU funded project involving collaboration with partners across Europe on next generation mobile radio access networks.

For this opening, the successful applicant will be required to have experience in the general area of Mobile and Wireless Communications with a specific focus on L2/L3 of next generation small cell wireless networks.

The following qualifications and experience are required for this post:
PhD degree in Communications Engineering or related areas
Research in wireless cellular networks performance analysis, radio resource management and network management ¿ preferably with some exposure to self-organising networks.
A good publications record in quality journals
Experience in at least one of the following areas is desirable:
Analytical evaluations of different algorithms and systems
Derivation of fundamental performance limits for wireless and cellular systems
Convergence and stability analysis of self-organizing networks

You will join an established research group within a 5*A research rated department with excellent computing and software infrastructure for first class research, modern facilities and close links with industry. You will have a unique opportunity to work in a multinational team from academia and industry in determining future applications and networks in both countries.
